A drug peddler was arrested was on Friday arrested and eight kg of poppy was recovered from his possession on Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Jammu district, police said in Jammu.

On a tip off, police intercepted a vehicle at the Jammu highway and recovered 8 kg of poppy from a drug peddler, Muzaffar, a resident of Kulgam district of Nagrota belt of Jammu district, early today, they said.
"He was arrested and a case has been registered against him, they said.
