An slight intensity earthquake measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale rocked Meghalaya in the wee hours on Thursday.

Recorded at 2:29 am, the epicentre of the quake was located at about 25 km from the Central Siesomological Observatory in Shillong.

There was no immediate report of any damage or casualty.
