In a reply to an issue raised by Venod Sharma, Congress MLA from Ambala city, during the ongoing session of the Vidhan Sabha here, regarding reservations being given to financially backward sections, Hooda said that also people belonging to general category who were economically weaker and were not getting any kind of benefit of reservation would be given the benefit under this category.

Sharma also raised the question that no clear instructions had been issued regarding castes included for reservation benefit of financially weaker sections.

He asked if financially weaker sections only included Brahmins, Rajputs, Khatris and Mahajans from the general category or reservation benefit would also be given to financially weaker people belonging to Scheduled Castes, backward and special backward categories who were already availing the benefit of reservation.

Sharma had, in a calling attention notice during the session on Tuesday, asked the government whether on the lines of special backward category, 10% reservation in government jobs and admissions in educational institutes was being given to financially weaker sections of the general category.
