A man was trampled to death by a wild elephant in core area of Rajaji National Park, police said on Friday.

The body of Amrit Singh (40), a resident of Haridwar, was found at Sonarkothi area of the national park, around 20 kms from Dehradun, by forest guards during patrolling on Thursday, they said.

Police said the postmortem report revealed that Singh died of injuries which he may have received in the elephant attack.
