The employees in their notice said that they would be free to take any decision if their grievances were not redressed within the stipulated timeframe of 15 days.

As per the decision taken earlier, a delegation of employees under the banner of Karamchari Sanyukt Sangh served the notice to additional municipal commissioner (I) R Vikram Singh in the post-lunch session. President and general secretary of the Sangh, Mohan Singh Yadav and Babu Ram Baghmar respectively led the delegation. Before handing out the notice, Baghmar read out the demands before the additional municipal commissioner (I). The notice clearly stated that employees were demanding immediate payment of wages and would be free to take any decision after the notice period of 15 days. Accepting the notice, Singh told the employees that all possible efforts were being made by the authorities concerned of the Kanpur Municipal Corporation (KMC) for early payment of wages to them. He also apprised the employees of the ongoing legal proceedings in the Allahabad High Court.

Enraged employees have also accused the municipal commissioner of deliberately denying wages to them.

“No where in its order the High Court has imposed a ban on payment of wages to employees,” said Babu Ram Baghmar.
