In an exclusive interview to the Hindustan Times, Mehta, who has been involved in the promotion of the information technology industry in India since 1992, said that the State Government should ensure that an individual entrepreneur should not have to run from pillar to post for policy clearance and getting approvals. “Big IT companies comparatively don’t face problems, but for an individual, there’re several constraints,” he pointed out.

He opined if political will is the bottom line in making any policy successful, repeated efforts along with infrastructure improvement is needed.

“Effective marketing is important and the NRIs belonging to MP or those having units in MP and benefited can spread about the facilities by word of mouth,” suggested Mehta.

Mehta hinted the agenda should be to make IT reach every home by making it a part of day-to-day life and for that effective education programme is required.

Regarding MAIT’s support to the State, the ED said it would act as a facilitator by helping the government to reach the industry through big forums and building bridges. “IT adoption and penetration at local level is easier, if the contents are in local language,” Mehta opined, stressing on more focussed approach towards the policy.
