Thomas Vijayan, hailing from Manjalamoodu in Kanyakumari District of Tamil Nadu, began the mission on April 15 and completed it around 11 am on Tuesday.

"The previous record of signing continuously for 54 hours is held by an Italian and I have beaten it now. I was permitted a break of 15 minutes every four hours," Vijayan said immediately after the feat.

Vijayan said he believed he was once saved from the jaws of death by the grace of God and since then he had been singing his praise.

He sang Christian devotional songs under the supervision of five observers and has videographed his achievement to be sent to the Guinness Book.
