IN A daring robbery, five armed gangsters last night robbed Kamala Jadhav, the widow of former Rajya Sabha Member the late D K Jadhav at her residence. However, when the gangsters were fleeing on the Agra-Bombay Road after committing the dacoity, a police patrol party challenged them, exchanged fire, killed one dacoit and nabbed two.
A constable was also injured. The police party recovered the looted cash and valuables from the spot. Two robbers managed to escape.
IG Police Sanjay Rana, DIG Sanjay Mane and SP Manmeet Singh Narang congratulated both the constables who killed one of the gangsters and nabbed two.
Giving details, Narang said that ‘Jadhav Mahal’, the residence of Kamala Jadhav, is situated on A-B Road near Bahodapur Intersection. Kamala Jadhav lives there with maidservant and two watchmen. At about 2 am, five armed gangsters barged into Jadhav Mahal, overpowered the watchmen at gunpoint and tied them with a pillar.
The robbers then broke open the door of Ms Jadhav’s room. Intimidating Ms Jadhav and her maidservant Shashi, they forced the two to hand over the key of cupboard. They took out silver valuables and Rs 26,000 cash from the cupboard and came out of the house.
Narang said that at the nearby petrol pump of Transport Nagar, two constables of Highway patrol party — Vinod Singh and Shishupal Singh — saw the gangsters, suspected something fishy and intercepted them for questioning. The gangsters tried to flee but the constables nabbed one of them.

On receipt of information on wireless, the force of Bahodapur police station and other officers reached the spot. His brother and father identified the killed gangster as Uday Veer Singh Bhadauria.
The nabbed gangsters are Gangaram and Giriraj. The police are searching for Sardar Jagga and Giriraj Kachi who managed to flee.
Action for promoting the constables out of turn is being taken by the police officers.
