Ex-Municipal Councillor shot dead in Haryana

The incident occurred on Saturday night when former councillor Prem Papneja was on his way home.

A former Municipal Councillor was shot dead by unidentified persons in Hansi town, 26 km from Hisar, police said on Sunday.

The incident occurred on Saturday night when former councillor Prem Papneja was on his way home, police said and added that he was immediately taken to the civil hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Meanwhile, a group of people protesting against the incident gathered in the civil hospital premises in Hansi and blocked the Hisar-Delhi National Highway for several hours.

Shopkeepers in Sabji Mandi in Hansi town also kept their shops closed in protest.
