One is so caught up with work that one generally ignores little pleasures, like getting away for a weekend. Also, as my husband, a Mathematics professor, lives in the US, I don’t feel like travelling on my own. So, a couple of months back, when I got an invitation to perform my play Untitled at Jaipur’s Rajvilas, it turned out to be a delightful experience. My husband was also here for a while and we stayed at this charming resort.

I have been to Jaipur before but this was my first stay at this old haveli. What I liked about this haveli, now a heritage hotel, is that it has an old world charm about it. They have maintained it so well.

Once there, after the show was over, we spent the weekend simply switching off. And luckily here we met interesting people, both Indians as well foreigners. It turned out be an international meeting of minds in an Indian setting. We also met some foreigners who had settled in Jaipur. It helps broadening one’s own idea about our own cities.
