The much-anticipated wedding of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor started with an intimate sangeet ceremony for family and close friends on Sunday evening at Saif’s new duplex apartment in Bandra. The bridal couple arrived at about 9 pm, followed almost immediately by their guests.
Kareena looked gorgeous in an orange and gold lehenga saree designed by Manish Malhotra, with emeralds as jewellery, and Saif went the nawab way with a white Nehru jacket worn over a kurta.
The first guests to arrive were Saif’s sister Soha Ali Khan with her beau Kunal Khemmu, followed by Amrita Arora and husband Shakeel Ladakh. Neetu Singh and Reema Jain came in together. Armaan Jain who, incidentally is being launched as an actor by Saif’s Illuminati Productions, arrived later. Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena’s other cousin, couldn’t make it to the party. Saif’s daughter Sara looked beautiful in an Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla outfit.
Judging by the vans parked near the building, the party was catered by the restaurant Joss, which specialises in European and Asian cuisines. Guests danced to songs like Disco Deewane, Halkat Jawani, Radha and Disco Dancer which were played on a loop.
Indoors, performances were put up by Karan Johar, Malaika Arora, Tusshar Kapoor and other close friends of Kareena and Saif, but after a while, guests drifted upstairs to the beautifully decorated terrace.

Meanwhile, out on the street, the assembled media tried their hardest to catch any news they could possibly get from the party, which led to such chaos that equipment was broken and scuffles broke out between media persons and curious onlookers. The police had to be called at 12.30 am, not only to control the chaos on the streets, but also to warn Saif and Kareena that playing loud music is not permitted in Mumbai after 10 pm. However, though the music was put off at 12.45 am, it returned louder than before at 1.15 am, and continued almost till dawn.
Now, with daughter Kareena’s wedding to Saif Ali Khan coming up on October 16, Babita seems to have finally extended the proverbial olive branch by personally inviting Neetu to the wedding. KAPOORS MAKE PEACE
Bebo Khan to visit Bhopal
According to Mid Day, Kareena Kapoor will visit Bhopal as Mrs Saif Ali Khan in January, two months after her October nuptials.
A source close to the family told the tabloid, “Preparations are being made at the Flag House, which is the ancestral house of the Pataudis in Bhopal. Chances are that Kareena will visit the house during her stay while shooting for the film.”
