Neeraj Singh, 27, a resident of Rajendra Park was on his way home from the local Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir when the incident took place. The victim slowed his car near a muddy stretch of Baba Prakash Marg. The area was poorly lit.

According to the victim, a Maruti Esteem car suddenly stopped near his vehicle and two men came out brandishing a gun. They snatched his wallet, mobile phone, ATM cards and car keys.

“One of the robbers hit my son on his head with an iron rod when he resisted. He managed to reach the hospital though he was bleeding profusely,” said Anuradha Singh, mother of the victim.

“The doctors at the hospital insisted on filing a police complaint before beginning the treatment. We called the police control room but the police reached after two hours and registered our complaint. They have not yet filed an FIR,” added Anuradha.
