A bench of justices RM Lodha and HL Gokhale issued notices to the state government and Greater Noida Authority on a petition filed by Bisrakh village farmers challenging the Allahabad high court decision refusing to quash the acquisition of their village land, acquired by using urgency clause.

“The SC said that since all the cases are almost similar in nature, they should be clubbed so that a uniform decision can be delivered for the benefit of buyers and farmers,” said Parminder Bhati, advocate for the farmers. There are more than 30 cases pending in the apex court related to Noida Extension.

The fate of 50,000 buyers is uncertain in Bisrakh, which has the biggest (40% land) stake in Noida Extension region.

Meanwhile, a delegation of flat buyers in Noida Extension will meet Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav soon.

“We will request the CM to intervene in the crisis that involves more than 1.25 lakh buyers, who have invested their hard-earned money. We will also request him to coordinate with the National Capital Region (NCR) planning board that will approve the 2021 master plan to make way for Noida Extension projects, which are struck,” said Abhishek Kumar, Noida Extension flat buyers’ welfare association (NEFBWA).
