Wing Commander Sanjeev Sood, Senior medical Officer of the Station, said that such camps were being held regularly in SMC in association with State Family Planning Services and in line with National Population Policy Sterlisation procedures by modern techniques and under complete aseptic conditions were made available to air warriors at their doorstep. He emphasised the role of terminal methods of sterilization in family planning and advantages offered by these methods over other conventional contraceptives. Additionally, incentives offered by Government on opting for sterilization make these methods worth for eligible couples who have completed their family.
The Station Medicare Centre has been conducting a series of camps and workshops for air warriors on diverse issues such as HIV/AIDS awareness, cancer detection, Eye/ENT and Dental camps. Recently, a complete childcare camp was organised as a part of providing comprehensive and quality healthcare to the families of service personnel.
