Two persons, including a police officer, escaped unhurt when a biker fired at them at a spot on Mathura Road about 30km from here on Wednesday.

The incident created a sensation in the area with people in the market running helter skelter to safety.
The incident occurred around 1pm on Wednesday near a crowded bus stand in Palwal when a biker had an argument with a group of people travelling in a Qualis.
When some women in the Qualis intervened, the two bikers beat them up, and also fired at the driver, Ranbir, a resident of Sihol village in Palwal. They were returning to their village from Faridabad.
However, the two bullets missed the target and the driver escaped unhurt. An assistant sub-inspector, Udam Singh, who was on duty in the area rushed to the spot after hearing gun shots.
When he tried to catch the biker, Devi Lal, he fired at the policeman. However, the bullet missed its target and Singh later chased him down.
A case under the Arms Act was registered against the bikers at a police station Palwal. However, efforts are being made to arrest another biker who was riding pillion.
