The Faridabad township in the national capital region will be the proud host of the biggest state-level sporting extravaganza beginning on Friday, October 22, 2010, at the Sector 12 sports stadium.

More than 6,500 sportspersons from different parts of the state would compete in the games, which will be declared open by chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

At the state-level championships, 29 games would be played. "It would be the biggest sports event in Faridabad," Surinder Dangi, joint secretary of Haryana Olympic Association said.

The association is organising the games. Some of the sports at the event would be archery, athletics, badminton, basketball, boxing, chess, handball, kabaddi, hockey, judo, lawn tennis, net ball and wrestling.

"The championships will be held in Sector 12 sports complex, Nehar Singh Stadium, NIT 3 Sports Complex and Pantha Bhavan," Dangi said.
