Rajesh Patidar, a resident of Jamli village, about 40 km from here, was admitted to a private hospital here after he consumed poison. But finding himself alone, he jumped from the fifth floor of the hospital, police officer T S Baghel said.

The 40-year-old was admitted to the ICU where he was declared dead, he said, adding a case of suicide has been lodged.

Quoting the deceased's relatives, Baghel said Patidar was reportedly facing severe financial crisis due to mounting loans which ran into lakhs. He had recently sold a `bigha' of agricultural land to reduce the loan burden.
