A fire broke out on the ground floor of the five-storey Indian Institute of Astrophysics building today, fire force officials said.

A fire broke out on the ground floor of the five-storey Indian Institute of Astrophysics building on Friday, fire force officials said.

However, no casualties were reported and those inside the building were rescued, the officials said.

One person who suffered some breathing problem due to smoke that filled the whole building was being treated in a private hospital, the officials said.

"The cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained",they said.
