A Soyuz space capsule carrying the first woman space tourist Anousheh Ansari docked on Wednesday at the International Space Station (ISS), ground controllers said in Moscow.

The spacecraft, which was launched from Kazakhstan on Monday, brings the Iranian-born US entrepreneur on an eight-day visit to the orbiter at an estimated cost of $ 20 million.

The next ISS crew, cosmonaut Mikhail Tyurin and US astronaut Michael Lopez-Alegria, who will spend six months on the station, accompanied her.
