Five killed, seven injured in auto rickshaw-truck collision in Rajkot

Five persons were killed and seven others were seriously injured in an auto rickshaw truck collision here, police said today.

Five persons were killed and seven others were seriously injured in an auto rickshaw truck collision here, police said today.

At least 12 persons were travelling in an auto rickshaw which collided with a truck coming from opposite direction on national highway near Morbi last night, they said.

Jalpa Rathod (30) her six-year-old son Anshuman and a fifty-year-old man died on the spot while a woman identified as Ila Bhavsar died while being shifted to nearby hospital, police said.

Another woman identified as Devyani Rathod, who was referred to the Civil hospital here succumbed to her injuries during treatment, they said.

The injured were admitted to Morbi hospital. Auto rickshaw driver has been booked for rash driving and efforts were on to nab him, police added.
