Five killed, two hurt in road accident near Malegaon

Five persons were killed and two others seriously injured when the jeep in which they were travelling collided with a container.

Five persons, including two sadhus and a woman, were killed on the spot and two others were seriously injured when the jeep in which they were travelling collided with a container at Soudane-Shivar near Malegaon on Friday.

The sadhus were proceeding to Nashik to participate in the Shahi Snan (royal bath) to be held on August 17, police said.

The passengers of the jeep hailed from Patti-Dattapura in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh.

Two sadhus, who were seriously injured were admitted to Nashik Civil Hospital, police added.
