Four Maoist rebels belonging to the People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI) were held from Silamkot jungle area of Gumla, around 140 km from Ranchi, while a Maoist commander was arrested from Visunpur village of the district.

Two rifles, live cartridges, Maoist literature, among other things were seized from them, a police officer said.

Maoist rebels are active in 18 of the 24 districts of the state.
