Five women passengers of Ernakulum Express train, were robbed of gold ornaments, mobiles and other articles worth Rs 2.5 lakh, Railway police said on Friday.

The victims lodged a complaint with railway police on reaching in Vadodara on Friday.

Four youths entered the women's compartment of the train between Panvel and Bhivandi railway stations in Maharashtra and robbed these five, they said.

One of the victims told PTI that the women's coach had no policeman to guard despite a provision of it. Railway police are investigating into the case.
