Five-year old falls in Manesar sewer, dies

A five-year-old-boy died after he fell into a deep sewer of the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) at Sector 7, Manesar, on Thursday night. Sumit was taken out nearly one-and-half hours after he fell in the sewer.

He was rushed to ESI Hospital where he was declared brought dead. Haryana chief secretary PK Chaudhary has ordered an enquiry into the matter. Gurgaon deputy commissioner PC Meena too has ordered an enquiry.

A fire official said that a 17-year-old too had fallen into that sewer with the child but had managed to come out on his own. Local residents informed the police and began a rescue operation with their help. But the child could not be saved.
