Timely medical aid saved the life of another air passenger at the Mumbai airport on Thursday when suddenly she started bleeding heavily from her nose.

Sigueiredo Daldes, a citizen of Span was waiting at the airport lounge after security check to board an Air Sahara flight to Varanashi when she started bleeding profoundly. It was 1.30 pm when she was waiting along with 34 co passengers.

The Air Sahara staff called the airport doctor who tried to stop the bleeding but when all efforts failed she was rushed to the Nanavati Hospital by a waiting ambulance. "On the way to the hospital the bleeding stopped. The doctors at Nanavati wanted to keep her under observation but she preferred to take rest in a hotel. It appears she is a hypertension patient and possibly the bleeding occurred as she had not taken medicine on time," said an airport official.

When the flight took off with other passengers, two people stayed back to take care of Daldes.
