Forest officer sought Led tv for clearance

The vigilance bureau on Thursday caught Mewat’s divisional forest officer’s clerk taking bribe to issue forest clearance for a petrol pump. HT reports.

The vigilance bureau on Thursday caught Mewat’s divisional forest officer’s clerk taking bribe to issue forest clearance for a petrol pump. The senior officer is also involved in the scandal.

According to the vigilance department, a complaint was lodged by Ram Avtar Singla of Nagina alleging that the DFO Virender Singh Gill demanded an LED television worth Rs 42,000 for a clearance to install a petrol pump.

The raiding party caught clerk Yogesh red-handed while taking Rs 2,000. He had allegedly demanded Rs 10,000 while the DFO demanded a television which was recovered from him.

A case has been registered against them under Prevention of Corruption Act.
