At a time when the Anna Hazare campaign has taken the Capital by storm, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi wrote to the Prime Minister on Saturday that the Parliament should set aside all business and pass a strong Lokpal Bill at the earliest.

This alone, Naqvi said, would set to rest questions on the credibility of the Parliament.
The Rajya Sabha MP's letter to the Prime Minister says it would be “arrogance and stupidity” on the part of the legislature to ignore the tremendous public anger against corruption spearheaded by Hazare and his supporters.

‘I feel ashamed’
“I am writing this letter with sadness. As a common citizen, whatever I am witnessing, it hurts. But as an MP and social worker, I feel ashamed,” said Naqvi.
“The web of rules and laws” should not be used as a “shield” to stand in the way of a strong Lokpal, he wrote.
“Today, there is tremendous public anger over corruption and a unique situation has arisen. The credibility of the Parliament and the Constitution is facing testing times. It will be arrogance and stupidity to reject the voice raised by Anna Hazare and his supporters,” his letter says.
