Four fresh cases of dengue identified

FOUR MORE patients have tested positive for dengue in the past 48 hours. With this, the total number of dengue patients admitted to hospitals here have reached eight.

According to the malaria and district health department reports, 14-year-old Najmul Hassan of Dhumanganj tested positive for dengue at the Microbiology Department. Najmul is admitted to the Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital.

A boy from Mirzapur, admitted to the SN Children’s Hospital, also tested positive for dengue, on Friday. The two patients, who tested positive for dengue on Thursday included, 32-year-old Manju of Badshahpur (Jaunpur) and a small child Sajid Ali also of Jaunpur. Manju is admitted to the ICU of Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital and Ali to the Jeevan Jyoti Hospital. The CMO has also confirmed that they are suffering from dengue.

“The condition of both the patients is stable. The hospital authorities have been asked to regularly inform about their condition. Both the patients are from outside the district, but still we are taking special care that local people are not affected by the dengue virus,” said CMO Dr Shantimal Singhavi.
