Four get life term in Dabra gangrape case

A trial court on Saturday sentenced four upper-caste youths to life imprisonment in the infamous Dabra gangrape case of a Dalit minor girl on September 9, 2012.

A trial court on Saturday sentenced four upper-caste youths to life imprisonment in the infamous Dabra gangrape case of a Dalit minor girl on September 9, 2012.

The four convicts given rigorous imprisonment for life are Pawan (27), Raj Kumar (25), Baljit (24) and Vikas (23).

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1.8 lakh on the convicts in various cases and said that Rs 1 lakh be given to the victim as compensation from the fine imposed on the convicts.

Reacting to the court order, the victim's family said that they would challenge the verdict in the high court, demanding death sentence for the convicts.
