Four killed, 22 injured in different incidents in Valley

Four people were killed and 22 others, including seven Amarnath pilgrims, injured in separate incidents in Kashmir valley on Wednesday, a police spokesman said.

Four people were killed and 22 others, including seven Amarnath pilgrims, injured in separate incidents in Kashmir valley on Wednesday, a police spokesman said.

Sajad Ahmad Makroo (34) was found dead in the bathroom of his house at Arwani-Bijbehara, 45 kilometres from Srinagar , on Wednesday morning, the spokesman said.

He said preliminary investigations suggested that the deceased might have come in contact with a live wire while taking bath and died of electrocution.

A labourer Mohammad Abbass Naik, a resident of Banihal, was killed, when he came under a stone while working at a quarry at Patha chowk on the outskirts of the city, the spokesman said.

A 45-year-old Zaiba Begum was killed, when she was hit by a scooterist at Lazabal-Achabal, 70 kilometres from Srinagar in Anantnag district.

An unidentified person was killed, when he was hit by a vehicle at in Pulwama district, the spokesman said.

Seven Amarnath pilgrims were injured, when their bus turned turtle near Ganderbal, 23 kilometres from here. The pilgrims were returning to Srinagar after paying obeisance at cave shrine of Amarnath.
