Four-member ICC team inspects PCA

The team visited Mohali and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements, which would be in place for the mega event slated later this year.

A four-member ICC team on Tuesday visited the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements which would be in place for the Champions Trophy tournament slated later this year.

"The team members, who have come from Dubai to inspect venues in India where the Trophy matches are to be played, today had discussion with PCA President IS Bindra in connection with the tournament matches to be played at the venue," PCA Chief Executive Officer Brigadier (retd) GS Sandhu said.

He said the ICC team was apprised about the new facilities at the PCA, which has so far hosted 14 international matches including Tests and the ODIs.

"We took them around and showed them the existing facilities at the PCA. We told them that we are improving the present facilities which include shifting the match referee's room to near the umpire's room.

"The room will be made more elevated so that the match referee can have a clear look at the proceedings of the game," he said.

He said the ICC team wanted the camera positions extended to which the PCA agreed as it will help cover more camera angles.

"The team will make few more visits before the start of the Trophy," he added.
