"The training will be provided on research and development of jatropha", said the Centre head, Birendra Choudhary, IFS.

On the day one, the training programme will be held at the Centre itself, where farmers will be imparted knowledge on how to develop saplings in nursery.

Besides, an effort will be made to post farmers about the adoption of jatropha as agro-forestry cash crop.

Not only this, awareness will be generated among the farmers about the economic value of jatropha, where they will be told that jatropha can be grown freely on barren land without the threat of cattles, so it does not require fencing also.

On the second day the farmers will be taken to Padila nursery located near Phaphamau where they will be given training on plantation techniques of jatropha.

Funded by National Oil Seed and Vegetable Oil Development Board (NOSVODB), the training will be provided by scientists and officials of the Centre.
