Gas pipeline at Vikhroli damaged, MGL suspends supply in area

A natural gas pipeline of Mahanagar Gas Ltd (MGL) on Wednesday suffered damage in a north-east suburb of Mumbai leading the utility to suspend operations in the area.

There was some damage in a pipeline at Tagore Nagar in Vikhroli. We have closed down gas supply, but the repair work has already started an MGL spokesperson said.

MGL, which supplies piped natural gas (PNG) to about 20-25 families in the area, said it would resume operations within a few hours.
