In the meeting, Srivastava gave strict directions to the officials to make sure that no child was left out from being immunised.

The district magistrate said the officials should organise a meeting of ANMs and find out whether they were doing their work efficiently.

Srivastava further said that every house should be covered in the drive. On Sunday, all the schools would be opened so the required directions would be given by the Basic Shiksha Adhikari, he added.

Meanwhile, the NCC cadets of the 59th battalion took out a bicycle rally on Friday to spread awareness about the forthcoming pulse polio drive .

The rally was flagged off by Commanding Officer Lt Colonel AK Thakur, who told the cadets that they were committed to social service and were like social soldiers.

Therefore, to eradicate dreaded diseases like polio, they had to play a major role and create awareness in the society.

Member of Life Line, a social organisation Ashwani Dixit said that along with creating awareness in the society about polio, the cadets must also try to draw the maximum number of children up to 5 years of age to polio booths on the day of immunisation.
