Geelani, who was detained in Humhama police station on Saturday, was shifted to Central Jail after police obtained a week-long judicial remand from court, they said.

He was detained on Saturday as a precautionary measure in view of apprehension of breach of peace during a special prayer meeting convened by him at Hazratbal Shrine later in the day, they said.

Geelani has been booked under section 151 and 107.

He was also booked under these sections last month as well but was released under court orders.
