Germany and Korea both finished with 11 points apiece and the draw, that was greeted by boos and whistles, left the Dutch on 10 points and in third place in the pool.

Australia and Spain qualified from pool B, but the semi-final line-up would be known after the day's last game, between the Aussies and Pakistan.

With the Dutch team watching the farcical proceedings helplessly from the stands, Germany and Korea made no pretense of a competition much to the disgust of the huge crowd at the Warsteiner Hockey Park here.
