Lakhan Sexena's (30) autopsy report stated that he died of asphyxia, SP (city) Shiv Shankar Yadav said.

"I am probing the case and will submit my findings in few days," Yadav said.

Lakhan, accused of throwing acid on 22-year-old married woman, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in the lock-up of Vijay Nagar police station yesterday, few hours after he surrendered.

On Friday morning, he threw acid on woman after she refused his proposal and fled from the spot and yesterday, he surrendered himself to police at 9.40am and was found hanging at 1.50pm.

He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead.
