MEMBER REVENUE Board T George Joseph has submitted his report to the state government on Ghaziabad and Noida land scams.

In his report Joseph has proposed action against about four dozen officers who were found involved in the scam.

According to sources, the land mafia, including Moti Goyal, Ashok Chabra and Madhusudan Gupta, had grabbed hundreds of acres of gram samaj and government land in Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar districts. During investigation Joseph found that the land mafia had grabbed the land in connivance with the employees and officers of the Revene Department.

George has already directed the government to free the land valued at about Rs 1,500 crore from the clutches of the mafia and register it as government land in the revenue records.

Moti Goyal and Ashok Chabra are lodged in jail while Madhusudan Gupta is absconding. In his report Joseph has said that officers have registered the government land in favour of the land mafia. Around half-a-dozen of the accused officers are still posted on important posts in Ghaziabad, Noida and Greater Noida.
