Giles out of India tour

The England left-arm spinner will not tour India later this month because of a hip injury.

England spinner Ashley Giles will not tour India later this month because of a hip injury and will be replaced by all rounder Ian Blackwell, the England and Wales Cricket Board said on Tuesday in a statement.

England will play three Test matches and seven one-day internationals against India during their tour which starts from February 11.

England last played a Test series in 2001 and Giles was a key member of that team under the Chennai-born Nasser Hussain.
