A CLASS XI GIRL was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the bathroom of her house in Kamla Nagar area on Friday. Initially the police surmised that she died of electrocution but circumstantial evidences suggest possibility of murder. The post-mortem report is awaited.

According to police, Sonal, 17, daughter of Deepak Jadhav, a resident of Kamla Nagar, was preparing for her examinations. Her parents, both working, were away and she was alone in the house. Her younger sister returned from the school in the afternoon and found the door open.

She later found the body of Sonal in the bathroom. Her head was inside the bucket filled with water. The younger sister informed the neighbours and subsequently the police came to the spot.

On first sight it looked she might have died as a result of electric shock from the geyser. But what made the case suspicious was that a ‘dupatta’ was tied tightly around her neck. No fault was found in the electricity line. Moreover, the police later found an injury mark on her neck. A knife was also found lying nearby. The body has been sent for post-mortem. Exact cause of death could be known only after that.
