With the city’s familiar foggy winters just around the corner, it is the perfect time to turn your home into a cosy haven. Warm tones, thick fabrics and good lighting are the mantra for a good winter decor.

Interior decorator Vaishali Sinha suggests choosing colours like turquoise, burnt orange, scarlet red, yellow and warm fabrics like velvet, silk, fleece or felt during this season. “One surely does not want to step on cold floors, so throw in some rugs here and there. You can also create a cosy sitting space near a sunny window,” she says.

Adding a pop of bright hues looks just right for the festive season too. “You can add candles and lamps for the glowy yellow light that gives a warm feeling. Go all out on gilded decor for your home,” says Vimi Singh of Navya. “Your home should reflect your personality, so don’t blindly follow the latest trends,” says interior decorator Anita Dalmia.

So, choose what keeps you snug the best.
