GJM delegation leaves for Delhi for tripartite talks

A Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM) delegation on Saturday left for New Delhi to take part in the tripartite talks on Darjeeling issue scheduled for September eight.

GJM general secretary Roshan Giri, who is leading the team told PTI before boarding the Delhi bound Rajdhani Express that three GJM leaders who were in Delhi would join the team and participate in the talks.

Besides, 13 GJM members the delegation would have one member each from political parties in Darjeeling hills who had extended total support to the Gorkhaland movement launched by GJM, Giri said.

Regarding the much awaited tripartite talks, Giri said that the delegation was prepared for talks on "Gorkhaland issue" only. "It is high time for both the state and the Centre to understand the ground reality of the issue. We expect that the talks must be issue based and hopefully there would be no attempt to frustrate the delegation", he added.
