"Glitter and the two victims were questioned this morning," Le Thanh Kinh said as he was walking out of the courtroom on Wednesday.

"He denies all charges."

Glitter was arrested in November in Ho Chi Minh City and accused of molesting two Vietnamese girls aged 11 and 12, in his rented seaside bungalow in the South China Sea resort town of Vung Tau.

The 61-year-old faded star, who shot to fame during Britain's 1970s glam pop craze, is charged with "committing obscene acts with children". He has repeatedly professed his innocence, claiming he was teaching the girls English.

After a more than three-hour court session, Glitter was walked to his prison van by five police guards at around 11 am local time, refusing to speak to about 50 journalists in the courthouse.

All the hearings were being held in Vietnamese and translated into English for the defendant by an official translator.

The trial was due to resume at 2:00 pm local time. A verdict was expected on Friday morning. If convicted, Glitter could face a jail sentence of three to seven years.
