Gloom descends at police officer’s house in Jabalpur

A pall of gloom descended on the residence of sub-divisional officer of police KS Malik in Daya Nagar locality here after the news of his death on Monday evening.

A pall of gloom descended on the residence of sub-divisional officer of police KS Malik in Daya Nagar locality here after the news of his death was received on Monday evening. His death left members of his family, friends and relatives shocked.

He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. Son Animesh is studying in Class 10 and daughter Ritika in Class 12.

In the locality, Malik enjoyed an image of a friendly police officer having cordial relations with neighbours and others in the locality. Vinay Swami working as domestic help in his house said, “He never treated me as a servant but as a family member.”

Recalling the police officer’s last visit to Jabalpur on Thursday last Vinay said, “His presence brought a pleasant atmosphere in the house on occasion of the New Year and he left for Tikamgarh only on Friday.”

Samrat Mishra, a neighbour, said, “I was shocked to hear about the death of a person like him who never raised his voice in the locality.”
