The see-through Gaurav Gupta gown stylishly showed off her well toned cleavage and thighs.

Actor Alia Bhatt, too, went the sheer way sporting see-through palazzo pants teamed up with a mustard top at a promotion of her upcoming film Student of the Year in Mumbai last week.

The trend is already hot on the international runway and divas such as socialite Kim Kardashian and singers Katy Perry and Lady Gaga too have been endorsing the trend. Design gurus vouch for sheer as a must-have this season. “Sheer was a rage in the nineties. Fully sheer lace gowns are a favourite of celebs on the red carpet internationally. Sheer bottoms are also in. It’s a super sexy way to show off your skin,” says designer Rina Dhaka. “It’s a modern day girl’s pick. It’s much cleverer than showing just bare skin,” says designer Gaurav Gupta. He recommends lace, chiffon, georgette and thin tulle fabric for those who want to go sheer.

One can wear sheer in various trendy ways such as a sexy bra with a sheer top, sheer pants, lacy crop tops and full lace dresses.
