"We have recovered a dead crocodile from Miramar beach. Its carcass has been sent for postmortem. We will be able to divulge exact cause of death and other details only after getting the report," deputy conservator of forest (DNF) Carvalho told PTI.

He said the locals informed the forest department about the crocodile's carcass. Miramar is a city beach located near the capital city and is one of the most populated shoreline of the state.

An aquatic reptile was sighted at Morjim beach, 30 kms away from here on July 17. The forest department had said that the crocodile must have walked on Morjim beach from nearby Chapora river.
