Goldman Sachs to invest $1 bn in India

The global investment banking major says the it will pump in money over two years to expand its business.

Global investment banking major Goldman Sachs on Tuesday said it would invest $1 billion over the next two years in the country for business expansion.

"The company will make capital investment of $1 billion over the next two years as Goldman Sachs has long term view on the Indian market," Goldman Sachs-India CEO L Brooks Entwistle said in New Delhi.

Currently, Goldman Sachs has its offices in Bangalore and Mumbai.

"We are very bullish on India and we want to have all our businesses, including asset management, in the country over a period of time," he said.
