Governor visits relief camps at Kathua, Samba

Jammu and Kashmir governor NN Vohra on Sunday visited several relief camps, which have been set up in Kathua and Samba districts for the villagers displaced following shelling by Pakistan.

Jammu and Kashmir governor NN Vohra on Sunday visited several relief camps, which have been set up in Kathua and Samba districts for the villagers displaced following shelling by Pakistan.

He visited the camps established at Government Higher Secondary School and Government Girls High School at Hiranagar in Kathua district and the Chichi Mata temple complex in Samba district and interacted with the displaced people.

The governor was informed by the respective deputy commissioners of both the districts. The relief extended to the affected families, includes pucca shelter, beddings, food, medicines etc. The governor appreciated the difficulties being faced by the affected families due to unprovoked firing from across the international border. He asked the DCs to provide all necessary arrangements to minimise the hardships of the harsh weather.
