This was stated by BJP leader and MLA Rajiv Bindal.

Interacting with mediapersons on Sunday, Bindal said two choppers of the Indian Air Force were consigned for evacuating the people, but one chopper failed to fly due to technical fault. He accused the government of using its own chopper for Mandi byelection, which was to be sent to Kinnaur for evacuating the stranded people.

He said Kinnaur had faced a loss of Rs 3,000 crore, but the Congress government had again failed to raise the issue before the Centre.

He added that the government neither constituted a team for evacuating people from Kinnaur nor was serious about residents of Himachal Pradesh stranded in Uttarakhand.

The BJP leader said chief minister Virbhadra Singh was there in Kinnaur when the flashfloods hit the district, but he took many days for announcing relief for the district. The meeting for rehabilitation of people was also convened after five days of the incident, he added.
