Govt mulling to enhance stipend of medical students

Chief minister Virbhadra Singh said the state government was considering to enhance the stipend of medical students. He said this while presiding over the annual prize distribution function and cultural nite, 2013 at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla, on Saturday evening. The function was organised by the Central Students Association (CSA) of IGMC.

Singh said the health sector was one of the top priorities of the state government and Rs 1,187 crore was being spent in this sector during the current fiscal. Singh announced a grant of Rs 50,000 for CSA.
